Kenya and Israel signed an agreement on water resource management, irrigation and capacity building. This was witnessed by President Kibaki and visiting Israeli Deputy Prime Minister Avigdor Liberman who pledged that his government will continue to provide training to Kenyans especially in agriculture, security and water technology. Although Israel is largely a desert, it has heavily invested in irrigation which enables it to produce various agricultural products for domestic consumptions and export.
